And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us
to himself by Jesus Christ
and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation and committed to
us
the word of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:18 -19)
The School of the Peacemakers can be scheduled in
your church to assist with bringing peace and harmony within your
local congregation, leadership circles, families, and within
individuals where internal conflict exist. School of the Peacemakers
is a bible based ministry of reconciliation and mediation.
Jesus said, “blessed are the peacemakers for they
shall be called the Sons of God.” Peace is at the very core of
Christianity. When the angels announced the coming of Jesus to this
earth, they proclaimed, “peace on earth and good will toward men.”
Then when Jesus was preparing to leave this earth He comforted His
disciples by saying, “my peace I give to you and my peace I leave
with you.”
Reconciliation is simply the act of bringing
harmony and peace back into places where relationships are broken
and fragmented. Reconciliation involves forgiveness and restoring
healthy communication.
Within the next 10 minutes, can you name 10
classic peacemakers who have influenced your life ? It would
probably take you a little longer than 10 minutes, maybe the entire
day? However, you could probably name 10 troublemakers who have
impacted your life within the next 10 seconds.
1st Peter 3:11 encourages us to “seek peace and
ensue it.” Then Romans 14:19 teaches us to “follow after things that
make peace.” The School of the Peacemakers will teach the mindset of
peace. People actually feel better spiritually, emotionally,
psychologically, socially, and physically when they are at peace
with themselves, God, and their fellow man.

SOME THOUGHTS ON BEING A PEACEMAKER
People can be helped and equipped to reconcile
and bring harmony. As one man put it, “Peace cannot happen unless
every human being becomes involved in the peace process.” School of
the Peacemakers will help people with that process and learn a
lifestyle of peacemaking.
Has it ever occurred to you that the content of
the 10 Commandments given by God relate to being at peace with God
and being at peace with others? One of the names assigned to God in
the Book of Isaiah was, Prince of Peace. This divine principle of
peace is very important to God. There is a blessing to those who
have enrolled in the School of the Peacemakers.
Remember, God said that His thoughts toward us
were thoughts of peace, not thoughts of war and strife. Jesus was on
a mission of peace and reconciliation. To be called the Sons of God,
we should also reflect his passion for peace, by being more peace
loving, peace making, and peace keeping.
It has become a sad commentary on the ministry in
that we have placed so much energies in getting people to the altar.
And much of what brings people to an altar is the quarreling and
strife that exist within that person. Lord, help us to put more
energy into teaching people what to do when they get up from their
altar and return to their world.
